The recently concluded year-end flea market at the Palacio de Memoria was another big hit. With more shopkeepers and families in attendance, following the IATF Level 2 Alert Statement on Metro Manila on November 5, the event showed the true Christmas vibes and the fun and enriching spirit of European street culture.
On its opening day, November 6, the event’s operations were extended until 6pm as the number of guests at the flea market reached more than 130. Galleria de Gunita was also well attended by over 160 guests. , all come for a delightful picnic experience, complete with a wide selection of food baskets and grazing boxes offerings from Apéritif Manille, Run Rabbit Run, Cocktail Bar Manila, and The Loggia. Music from Local Sun, Bins and Emel Rowe also filled the afternoon with a relaxing weekend vibe in the Palacio’s expansive gardens. Meanwhile, on November 7, fans of European culture were treated to leisurely cocktail mixing sessions courtesy of Don Papa Rum’s Open Bar and carved and rolled cigars at Tabacalera Incorporada’s Cigar Bar.
The event’s art, antiques and retail trade fair also attracted more visitors as it featured a larger and more dynamic mix of merchants including Travelfund, Mark Bumgarner, Sassa Jimenez, Store One, ZOE, Etniko Pilipino , PhilHHDA, Vidro, Fiori di Marghi, Rue Angelique, Casa Mercedes, Rafikimono, Betina, RHM, Kassa, Brando Arts & Antiques, Fren and SENSASI. The Presidential Paws pet care brand was also added to the roster this time around to please the many furry friends who also honored the weekend event along with their families.
Sponsored by Smart Infinity, the two-day event held in the park of the villa in the city of Parañaque provided guests with a safe and relaxing community environment as the organizers observed a rigorous health protocol such as vaccination test control, temperature and social distancing within the place.
For those who missed the event, the Galleria de Gunita will return in December 2021, while the Flea Market will have its fifth edition in January 2022. The Palacio de Memoria is open during the holiday season for guests looking for a short trip cultural inside the Metro.
