This week on his podcast “The Richard Sherman Show,” the cornerback sat down with former Seattle linebacker KJ Wright to discuss Russell Wilson, among other topics. In their discussion, they described how, in their opinion, Wilson “received special treatment under Pete Carroll:
In Sherman’s words:
But there weren’t enough years apart for the responsibility to be like that. Well, he was young. He’s like, well, he’s like a year younger than us. Hey, he’s not that young. When you have 52 guys held to a certain standard and you have one guy who is not held to the standard, that’s going to cause some friction.
After a while, it had to come to a point where he chose Russ or the defense. And after the Super Bowl loss, he made it pretty clear who he was choosing.
However, as Wright and Sherman allude to, it appears that Carroll has changed his mind since Wilson’s departure. After years of pursuing a run-first offense that Seattle fans had begged the team to “let Russ do the cooking,” Carroll now hopes the Seahawks — and Geno Smith — will get the ball in the air more:
After saddling Russell Wilson for years with a mind-numbing run-focused game plan, Pete Carroll now calls for a more passing-focused game plan under Geno Smith. https://t.co/VuETaBUZ8h

Let Geno cook?
With Wilson now playing quarterback for the Denver Broncosthe consequences of her time with him Seattle Seahawks keep going. After Seattle stunned Wilson and the Broncos in Week 1, current and former Seattle players could barely contain their glee, seizing the opportunity to shoot Wilson:
Even the Seahawks themselves got in on the act, poking fun at Wilson’s “let’s ride” promo that appeared on social media over the summer:
Among the former Seahawks who attacked Wilson that night was Sherman. The former cornerback, now an Amazon analyst, posted a few different tweets while he was in the game.
Sherman really seems to be absorbing this.
It almost makes one wonder if the entire plan for the Seahawks this season is to troll Wilson at every opportunity.
