How did Christopher Scarver die and who is his killer?

NetflixThe latest addition to his true crime canon, that has made the fans sick other received criticism from Whoopi Goldbergtells the story of one of America’s most notorious serial killers: Jeffrey Dahmer.

Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story stars Easttown Mare actor Evan Peters as the man also known as the “Milwaukee Cannibal” or the “Milwaukee Monster,” who committed the murder and dismemberment of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991.

dahmer’s death

On November 28, 1994, just two years after his sentence, Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, beat Dahmer to death.

Dahmer, 34, had left his cell to do cleaning work and was accompanied by Scarver and another inmate, Jesse Anderson. The three men were left unsupervised in the prison gymnasium showers for approximately 20 minutes.

At approximately 8:10 am, Dahmer was discovered on the bathroom floor with serious head injuries after being struck with a metal bar and hitting his head against a wall.

He was pronounced dead an hour later at the hospital. Anderson was struck with the same weapon and died two days later from his injuries.

Scarver, who was serving a life sentence for a 1990 murder, told authorities he attacked the couple and hid the metal bar in his clothing before the murders.

Upon learning of his death, Dahmer’s mother, Joyce, told reporters: “Is everyone happy now? Now that he’s been beaten to death, is that enough for everyone?

Some of the families of Dahmer’s victims responded positively to the news of his death, while others thought he had escaped punishment. Catherine Lacy, the mother of victim Oliver Lacy, said: “The pain is worse now, because he doesn’t suffer like we do.”

In 1995, Scarver was sentenced to two additional terms of life in prison for the murders of Dahmer and Anderson.

More than 20 years after the incident, Scarver spoke for the first time about why he killed Dahmer.

Scarver said he fatally beat Dahmer after he was unnerved by the killer, who he claimed would make severed limbs out of prison food and sprinkle ketchup packets on them as blood.

“He would put them in places where people would be,” Scarver said. The New York Post.

“He crossed the line with some people: prisoners, prison staff. Some people who are in prison are sorry, but he wasn’t one of them.”
