The global energy crisis caused in large part by a resurgence in demand is starting to hit across Europe, and many people fear they won’t be able to heat their homes properly as gasoline prices skyrocket.
Nicolò Rossetto, a researcher at the Florence School of Regulation, told Euronews that there were signs “a few months ago” that prices would rise and that this crisis could last all winter.
“It is not just a European issue. It is affecting the whole world. Gas is increasing and electricity, which is often produced by burning natural gas, electricity prices are also going up,” added Rossetto.
