Coaching Real Leaders returns on October 3 for another season of real-life coaching sessions, where longtime host and executive coach muriel wilkins takes you behind closed doors as you help executives, managers, and entrepreneurs overcome the challenges they face.

MURIEL WILKINS: Training true leaders is back this fall. Join me as I coach leaders from around the world as they tackle some of the toughest career issues they face at work today. You’ll hear real training sessions, tackling topics like: How do I make a career change later in life?
SPEAKER 2: I did it before, so I want to do it again. That combination of an excellent career path that is aligned with what is required in this position of relationships, cultural and international competencies, an understanding of the organizational DNA that I have there. And that is definitely a competitive advantage.
MURIEL WILKINS: How do I transition from a corporate job to an enterprise job and get the most out of it?
SPEAKER 3: There is a mindset shift that needs to happen, and maybe this will happen naturally over time. The more you are outside of the corporate environment and in a consulting role, the less you focus on “I have to prove myself.” But to tell the truth, I think I was like that in the corporate environment too. Every year was an opportunity to be promoted. Every year was an opportunity to break another goal.
MURIEL WILKINS: And how can I best defend myself when I don’t have a clear run ahead of me?
SPEAKER 4: I think the conversation I haven’t had is: To get to that executive level, which I’m aiming for, what should I do? What are the steps to get there? If I continue to fulfill my current role, will that get me there one day? Or if not, maybe have some kind of session… What could be the other things that I could be doing to position myself to get there?
